Tube orientation question

Post by guilds100 » Tue May 31, 2011 7:21 am

I have a 50 plexi clone that I would like to put into a weber combo cab. This will put the tubes in a horizontal position. I've looked at the 18 watt combo for example and those tubes are upside down but there still in the vertical position. Im afraid that laying the tubes on there sides will wear out the tubes prematurely. I have little faith in modern tubes as ive seen them fail quickly in optimal conditions. Any thoughts.

Can't really answer your question, but have you seen this?

By the look of it, if you don't already have the cab, or one on order, the question may be moot.
