Sad to read that, but Svetlana stop production in the St Petersburg's factory. Bad news for the Winged =C= users, here is where I red this breaking news: http://music-electronics-forum.com/t32158/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's time to buy!

I e-mailed my friend at (an SED distributor) Tube Depot yesterday and he said "No official word yet. However the silence from the SED company, the unavailability of in-demand tubes, and the drop in quality, is eerily smiular to the Ei factory's last days."

Like the story Did J posted read; SED is still a major player in production of radio and medical products. The small audio stuff can't have been profitable for them; partly due to their tubes being more expensive than JJ/Chinese/New Sensor products, poor marketing or lack thereof, and losing the Svetlana name to Mike Matthews/New Sensor.

This has been going on for a while. Couldn't hardly get them a few years ago, then when you could the price went up. It's sad to see them go but the quality has suffered too so it's not even the same great tube it used to be.

Buddy of mine talked to the dude from tube depot on the phone yesterday, and he said it's bunk.
