Blugle boys/amperex/phillips Holland are very nice, but a little brighter than mullards in my opinion. Great tube, but I prefer Mullard or Brimar.

"Old tube testers suck" ...geez....tell us how you really feel! :D

My 539C is a great resource for weeding through good and bad tubes...I've purchased (and even have been given) tubes that look great but are total crap. My old tester is as accurate as one needs it to be (it just has to be calibrated from time to time). Been in my family since the early sixties....I would take this thing over these new digital gizmos any day. Tube testing is so subjective anyway...it varies from tester to tester - even with the new ones...IMHO the term "NOS" should never be used - that is completely misleading.

Besides my Hickock has increased in it's value 10 fold so it's a keeper! :clap:
