JJ and Valve Art are a little different

I didnt even think JJ made KT66s. Somewhere on this board George did a test between the Shuguang KT66 (valve art) and a GEC. From my own tests, they arent bad tubes. Not quite as nice as the GEC but still good value for money tonewise.

I've never seen a JJ KT66. I didn't know they made a KT66 just 6L6's, but the Chinese KT66's seem pretty popular if you don't have the money to throw at GEC's.

The 1st run of the JJ KT66s just debuted a couple of weeks ago. I was on the list, but thought I'd wait till some reviews surfaced. Jumped the gun when the Tung Sol RIs came out and

Did you have trouble with the "Tung-Sol" KT66's? I've been torturing a quad in my Super PA at 530VDC on the plates, they've held up well and sound pretty nice compared to the Shuguangs and GT KT66HP's.

the problem with the tung-sols and possible the JJs is that they ain't real kt66s - the specs ain't right. the tung-sols seems to have borrowed from the 6l6s while the JJs might have borrowed from the kt88s

I May have to try the tungsols but i will wait on the jj kt66's until they work out the bugs.

I have ordered a set of the JJ KT66 for my JTM45, which has Valve Arts now.
I'll try to make a comparison and post here if anyone is interested.
I do hope they fit as they seem to have the same base as their KT88s which is pretty big.

yes, although I am not an expert when it comes to tube construction. for new kt66s I prefer TAD and gold lions
