What preamp tube are you guys running in your 45's? .

45 (RS): telef, siemens, tele
45/50: probabl siemens or tungsram, mullard , tele
45/100: tungsram, tungsram, tele
45/100 (el34): tungsram, can remember v2-3

Still breaking it in...

but
V1 Tungsol Reissue
V2 Mullard Reissue
V3 GT Labled Sovtek LPS

I have some GEJan 5751's and some ANOS GE's and such to mess with once I get some more time on it and finish tweaking. Just put in some KT66's from Terry last night though, and that's a big improvement over the (badly mismatched) Tungsol Reissues I had.

Should've just went with the tubes George supplies, but I figured i had a bunch of stuff laying around..sigh..LOL

different setups in all amps. The consistent thing is V3 where TFK smooth and TESLA e83cc seems to work wonders. It's easier to find tubes that have "it" for V1-2 imo.

Well with it breaking in nicely, I raided what's left of my 'stash' and put a Phillips Holland in V1, RFT in V2 and a GE JAN 12AX7 in the PI.

Nice. I'm digging that, there they will stay.

tried a new config in my early 67 hendrix spec'd 100w and it was really great with an LP:

v1 sylvania (a real hot one)
v2 mullard shield logo
v3 tesla e83cc

power tubes are mid 70s RFT.

i'm using:
V1 = Matsushita ecc83 (sounds better than my sylvania, JJ, sovtek, EH)
V2 = Matsushita ecc83
V3 = JJ Ecc83

Is this a 45/100, a black flag or a 10000 series amp?

It's a '73 ptp super bass tweaked per the "Dickinson" hendrix super lead amp specs. Originally it had 525 B+, but I lowered it to 470.
