6L6GC or other 6L6 Types in a 45/100?

Dear forum members,

i couldn't find the answer in existing threads. I'm about to build a 45/100 and i was wondering if it could also take any 6L6 type tubes. The Marstran power transformer that i'm going to buy for this has also the 490v tap, which i think i'm going to use, rather than the 560v. Could some 6L6 tubes be suited - would they take the voltages? Specifically i'm interested in the winged =C= 6L6GC, as i liked those tubes very much in my jtm-45 clone.
I'd go with KT66's, but matched quads are expensive and i can get the =C= tubes cheaply where i live.

Are there some good current production KT66's made in Russia?

Thanks in advance!

For Russian KT66's, I've been quite happy with the set of "Tung-Sol" KT66's that have been in my Super PA. I thought they sounded really nice, and I just changed them out last night -- they'd been in there running at 530VDC on the plates since August 2006. Far more life than I've gotten out of many tubes, and I really only changed them because of how long they'd been in there. I'll keep them as backups.

I tried a quad of Winged =C= 6L6GCs in my Black Flag for a bit. It was running in the 490s. They're a tough tube and sound good in those circuits.

I had to lower my bias feed resistor to get them in the zone, bias wise, as they drew a lot of current. I also like to lower the bias splitters (220k down to 100k) to roll off some bass and avoid woofiness.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Aren't the Tung Sol KT66 actually 6L6's in a different disguise? Or was it a different tube that was actually a 6L6 that looks like a KT66?

I wonder if the 45/100 OT would handle 6L6Gc's also that easily?

6L6GCs should work fine as should 7581s. 6l6s are nice for that EJ dirty rhytm sound. tung sol 6l6 STRs sounded good in my 67 100w running at 490v

Dont know about the 45/100Here is a clip of my 1965 JTM50 super pa running 6L6's. Spekers are a Goodmans audiom 12p-d 50watt and 1978 celestion 20watt g12s

And with just the Audiom wired -
