KT-88 install problem

Post by Ivabiggun » Fri May 21, 2010 5:38 pm

I am installing a pair of EH KT-88's in a 1987 RI. The tube base is so wide that it touches the socket mounting screws and this prevents the tubes' base from installing flush with the socket. I am ordering a pair of retainers to fit the tubes but does anyone know if the tube base touching the screws will cause any problems. I was thinking perhaps a grounding problem of some kind.

I have a 2203 with JJ KT88 and noted the same. But with no problems, I also have retainers holding them down.

Good Luck
