Swamp Rs and screen grid Rs affecting tone?

Post by Dom » Wed Oct 20, 2010 6:14 am

Hi dear forum members,

Has anyone experience by using difference values of the grid stoppers and screen grid Rs how they're affecting tone / feel?
Can you make a Shuguang KT66 sound more like a GEC by chosing certain values of these resistors?

Cheers

the resistors on pin 5 make no audible difference unless you use very high values (typically above 10k), however, they do remove potential osciallation

resistors on pin 4 affect tone and response a lot. you can lower the 1k a little if you have low voltages (e.g. 370-400v).
