The title says it all, could gold lion KT66s handle 560v B+, or would they die really quickly?

Don't know about 560v....but....
I have a GL KT66 quad that runs at 535v B+. Two Years and working well.
I regulate the AC to elimate those nasty tube killing AC spikes.
JJ's lasted 5 minutes, Shugs a week, GL reissues are the only
new production tubes to survive so far. Lowering voltages is always an option,
but will change the character of the amp quite a bit.

Alright. If they're lasting that long at 535v, then I'll try them out at 560v. If they die, I wont be doing that again, haha.

I'd have to say no, they don't do 560 volt well at all.
I just had a Gold Lion reissue go south on me the other day. In a '66 JTM45/100 (a real one, not a repro).

Amp was running on 115 volts AC, the B+ is around 560 volts, maybe a bit more. The tubes had about 3 hours of playing time.

No more reissue tubes in that amp, gonna have to be GEC's.

Hm. Well, Brian Wallace said he has a quad of Valve Arts that can handle it. So I'll give 560v a chance with Gold Lions. If it doesn't work the M e r r e n transformers have a middle tap at 500v.
