I'm currently retubing and recapping a 72 Bassman for a friend, who actually plays bass through it. Any suggestions on the best NP 6L6 tube for bass?

I had good luck in the past with the Winged =C= 6L6GC. I would be sure to get high emissions/plate current tubes for increased headroom - assuming he wants that. I'm using the "Gold Lion" KT88s in my Traynor for bass...

Haven't tried them for bass, but I've been liking the tungsol 6L6GC-STR

Seems very well made and toneful. SED tubes have just gotten way ridiculous in price as of late.

When I used 6L6 tubes in my bass rig(several years ago) in my opinion the best sounding were the original Sevetlana(Now =C=). I also used a set of the JJ 6L6's with great results too. I was using a Peavey Classic 120/120 amplifier in 240 watt mono configuration, it sounded very good for bass and having controls for resonance and presence was very handy.
