Reviews I've seen on the cryo treated versions are mixed, with many feeling the sonic different afforded by the treatment not to be an improvement. I would stick to the regular versions.

I've not experimented with cryo treated tubes but those Genelex tubes from New Sensor seem to sound quite good in my experience. I like them better than the Valve Art version but it's certainly worth trying a few different versions to decide what you like best.

Only cryo tubes I ever tried were Harma EL34's from Watford Valves (which are just tested JJ's rebranded, and obviously cryogenically treated).
Both pairs died in less than 6 months, well not died as such, but gained a rather shocking loud hum. So it certainly didn't do anything towards promoting long life. (I only ever used my amps once or twice a week for up to 4 hours at a time)

I wouldn't waste money on it.
So I like purple, okay!!!!!!

83.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot!

I doubt any of the great guitarists used the frozen buggers back in the day.

+1
Never knew they cryo'd tubes ?
From my understanding makes parts more dense so I understand why the appeal of bridge/hardware parts, but tubes ?...
First impression sounds like a gimmick and being something that carries an electrical current and in this case tone shaping
I can see why the "breakdown" in life expectancy.
I might be waaaay off but, in theory, what happens to ice when its affected by heat ? Double stress if you ask me IDK ? :what: Sorry not a fan of this cryo-tube thing. Image

Actually, those are reported by several in Hi-Fi audio circles as being better than original GECs.
