Better stay away!
Telefunkens sound good in HiFi equipment, because the don't have any markable pronouncation. They're pretty straight, and therefore too sterile sounding in guitar amps.
Also the starting bid is a joke! If it would be a Telefunken ECC803S, then OK, but these tubes here in Germany sell for about 50-70 EUR NOS/NIB e/a.

Mmmm....that's a matter of personal taste, I love my Telefunkens in V1 and V2 of all my Metro builds.

Check for the diamond on the bottom; if not there, you actually may be hearing rebranded Siemens, Valvo, Philips or even Mullard tubes 'cuz near the end, Teles were made by other European factories also.

I have about 6 Smooth Plate Tele pulls. All diamond bottom tubes and they are my favorites. VERY musical and not harsh at all. Not as much gain as some but still very good. In blind tests my buddy and I always picked certain tubes as best and the smooth plates were ALWAYS in the top of the heap.
That said I have found that every amp is different and sometimes sounds or feels a little better with certain tubes in specific positions.
Other tubes that always rise to the top are Amperex, Mullard (of course), RFT (lots of gain), I've had certain amps do really well with GE's and RCA's too. I have a Matsushita (Japanese) pull that is REALLY good.
My favs are still the smooth plates with the Amperex orange logos in a close second and then the Mullards.
I just got an NOS set of Mullard EL84's and can honestly say they are the best I've ever played. I normally play GE's which are really good but the Mullards just kill.
That's my $.02 anyway

Sorry...the last post was mine. I obviously wasn't logged in and didn't realize it.
Wanted to add that smooth plates can be had used on ebey for a lot less than that auction and I have gotten them for $25 each and in better shape visually than the one in that auction. Right now you should expect to pay about $35-40 for good used smooth plates. I didn't think the ribbed plate tele's were that good so I stay away from them.

My telefunkens seem to be pretty picky about what amp they are in, they sound glorious in my buddies metroed reissue but lifeless in my fender.
