Tubes Tubes Tubes

Post by tfrost33 » Sat Jul 13, 2013 10:35 pm

Anyone heard of or dealt with these guys?

I am in the process of searching for NOS tubes for my 10,000 series build and I am a tube novice! I do understand that good tubes add to your tone, but if you took the labels off I wouldn't be able to tell which is which. I would obviously be able to see the differences in different tubes, for instance the difference in getters/plates/etc... But I could spot a mullard unless it was labeled and even then it seems nowadays one is subject to scams!

I am on a budget for the tubes, as I went all out on everything else... I could spend $150 to $200 for the pre's and about the same for the power tubes.

I heard they are one of the most reliable sources of NOS tubes. Never dealt with them personally though.
