Can't for the life of me upload a picture so I hope I have gave enough info for someone to tell me. Thanks guys. I'll have to say the amount of knowledge I have obtained on this site has been a great help for me buying and trading old marshalls and there seems to be less arguing bullshit I know more than u crap here than other places. Maybe you should post some close photos of the tubes and someone will recognize them hopefully (not me :? )

Edit: My amp (1978 SL) came with mullard ecc83's. Do your pre tubes flash real bright for a second when you turn the amp power switch on. If so, they are mullards or Ei

Just a shot in the dark but RFT ECC83's have a very short plate structure and are very thin on one side of the plate and thicker on the opposite side. The mica spacers are also unique...very spikey looking with eight points on each one. Great tubes in a Marshall circuit imo but we would definitely need a pic to be sure.

RFT and Tesla were two separate manufacturing companies and both made great tubes. I like to run the RFT EL34's because they are still available at a reasonable cost and fairly easy to find both NOS and slightly used. I love the sound of the RFT ecc83's and will usually have at least one in either V1 or V2 of the preamp. Tesla's are great in their own way also!
