Will do - I've heard that EVH used this tube in his Marshall, is that right? If so I'll let you know how it handles 12000 series spec and how close it gets to that tone Mark.

These tubes seem to be going dirt cheap on eBay at the moment compared to Mullards, so I guess now would be a good time for me to get some NOS as I can't afford NOS prices. I'm gonna have to pass up on NOS power tubes as it's too hard to find a reliable, matched quad of EL34's at a reasonable price.

I just bought a trio of NOS 12AX7 WA's and love them. Great sounding tubes. I paid a lot more for them but it was worth it.

I've read many times that preamp tubes effect tone a lot more then power tubes. This is proven with test equipment that I never heard of..LOL. Anyway..I believe that. Power tubes brands unless you are changing tube types have subtle differences in EQ and response. But preamp tubes..really do make a difference.
