Have 2 NOS 50's Long Black Plate Sylvania 12ax7's and and one NOS 1960 RCA Long Grey Plate 12ax7.. any ideas as to which should go into V1 V2 OR PI?

I'd try the RCA in V1, and the Syl's in V2 and V3.

Thanks.. will try that. Any particular reason you like the RCA in the V1?

I just find them to break up a little easier than Sylvania's. One of the Sylvania's in the PI would be the most definite choice I would make, but I'd most likely still stick with the RCA in V1. Very sweet sounding tubes. As are the Syl's, but they're a little glassier on the top end than the RCA.

Must admit though, I'm not familiar with blackplate Syl's specifically (other than the EL84's which I know well). Familiar with blackplate Raytheons though, and Sylvania greyplates. My choice would still be the same, order wise.

Thanks... out of curiosity how do you feel about telefunkens?...I've gotten mixed reviews, everything from flat to the holy grail...

Holy grail, mmmm, no. Not for guitar. That said, I've actually got a hi-gain one in V1 of my 2204 at the moment, which is as aggressive as all hell.
Smooth, clear, detailed, and a strong tube, but holy grail, not. The frame grid Telefunken ECC803 on the other hand might be a different story, but I've yet to be able to afford one. But the Tesla E83CC is an exact copy. Trouble is, there are a lot of fake Tesla ones about.
