Mullard CV4004 12AX7

Post by saborthw » Sat Feb 11, 2006 8:59 pm

I just bought NOS Mullard CV4004 12AX7 boxed plate at Upscale Audio in Upland California for $60.00 each. The Mullard CV4004 is rugged version of the 12AX7. Made for the English Military, the CV4004 is one of the best 12AX7 variants you can use for audio. This is one description I found on the net

Anybody try these before ?

Regards

Scott

I've got a couple of IEC Mullards (the CV4004 is supposed 2b a mucho more rugged tube)......

I got lucky and picked 2 up for the amazing price of $30......

And I would have easily spent that much for them considering how they sound!!!!
Let's get going, 'cause there's too much music, too little time!!!!

i have a couple. they are very efficient, and do something different than a regular mullard. maybe a little more hifi sounding? i prefer the regular mullards, bit warmer sounding. but its a matter of taste.
