BIASING QUESTION

Post by Guest » Thu Feb 16, 2006 8:39 pm

Hey Guys,

I just bought a pair of Mullard reissue El34 and I wanted to know something. They are matched at a biasing point of 31 each. What does this mean?? I am almost done building a 1987 and I only have a 25K bias pot. Do I need to get a 30K? Also, I have 2 high gain 12AX7's and one quiter one. Which socket should I use the quiter one in?

Thanks a lot!

Mike

That 31 is the amount of current they draw. Your 25K bias pot will be fine. Remember to check the plate voltage when you bias. As far as your 12AX7's go, the quiet one should go in V1.
