From what I've heard they're good tubes - slightly on the dark side, fairly quick breakup...good for raunchy Marshall sounds. 4-holer or JCM800. Like a more aggressive, slightly darker Mullard. Definitely one for distorted sounds more than cleans, from what I've read.

This is a rft.
One of my all-time favorite AX in a marshall, when you want raunch. Shakti is 200% right and said everything. Full of low-mediums, don't expect superb clean sound. But when you turn the volume on...

The RFT's have huge gain and punch - more than any Mullard - and are very low in microphonics, but also are lacking some highs. A very good choice for some very bright sounding 2203's as the V1.

Methinks I'll like this tube in a 50W Bass, for a Duane Allman-like sound... we'll see!
