Thanks to Jim Seawell! Scored an old Orange cab!

This is what it sounds like, when cones cry.

Thanks to Jim Seawell! Scored an old Orange cab!

Post by Mynameisfritz » Wed Jan 25, 2012 2:56 pm

Yeah guys, this feels a little bit like heaven. Look what I scored a few minutes ago in the bay: a painted vintage Orange cab from about 1971 loaded with matching G12M Pulsonic cone Greenbacks in good working condition for about 700 bucks… Although the seller is a completely ignorant guy and didn’t answer any email about the cone and chassis numbers, I can clearly see the black speaker tabs and the sticker which indicate that it’s got to be beautiful old greenies. Muchos thanks go out to JIM SEAWELL and his detailed Greenback ID thread. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to identify these speakers.
JIM, YOU’RE THE MAN!!!
Now I hope that everything will turn out right and none of them has got any issues. But as the seller only lives a few miles away from here, this won’t be a big deal.

Nice score !
I had my eye on this cab but I've already got too many 1960s !
Glad it went to someone from this forum.

Nice score! Check this thread for some excellent tips on how to remove the paint...you could find some very nice-looking tolex underneath:

Thanks guys – and Jim, sorry for that mistake… :toast:
Thanks for the tip, shakti – and yes, it’s wired in series.
Anyway, I’ll get it on Monday and will check all the speakers one by one before carrying it home.
