On a 12" Speaker with Pre-Rola Greenback labeled plastic magnet cover. Is this a real pre-rola?
Never seen a data stamp like this before?

Never seen a cone code like this without the end of the number before?

So the date code was stamped backwards?
And does the cone look like the original pulsonic?
And being that old what's the chances that it would sound any good?

Yep, the workers at Celestion didn't get the new date code stamp dialed in many times, and you can find this happening off and on thru 72. That's why it's so important to know your cones/doping/labels, and all the construction details.
Your cone # stamp looks right, if you send me pics of the front of the cone/label on the back I can tell you if it's a Pulsonic cone (but it looks right so far) with era correct doping.
Or post the pics here.

And Jim while I have your ear, would doping repair this small tear/crack in my 1972 G12 and if yes, can I purchase some from you?
Thanks!

Looks like you have a G12M 25w 16 ohm. It has a 20w label, but you can see where they put the 25w round label on top from the leftover glue. Other than that, it looks correct from the pics you've posted.
As for the 72 speaker, yes I have the glue to do this as well, but for that small a crack, I would just get some white Elmer's paper glue and put a thin layer on it, let it dry for 24 hours. I'd put some on the front only, as getting it on the back could be tough, unless you use a toothpick or similar to put some on the back since it's so close to the frame.
Good luck!

That is not back to front, it is a perfectly normal date stamp for 68. Numbers then letters. Its that date chart everyone uses that is incorrect. Ive said it before but nobody listens, or Jim tells me Im talking rubbish.
The normal date stamp format from the late 50s right through to around early 69 consists of four digits, and the numbers usually come first. eg '26GA', '25HK' etc, etc
Around early 69 they introduced an additional inspection letter (or whatever that extra letter is for) and they swapped the format so the letters came first. eg: 'HB 24 X', or 'MC 30 Y' etc, etc.
Of course there are some exceptions, but that is the normal format.
Some date codes in the early 70's are missing the numbers and just show the month, year and inspection digit (three letters). eg 'FE X' or 'BF Y'

BG: Huh, can't remember when I said you were talking rubbish, but I do use that date code chart for reference. I've seen the numbers before letters date code anomaly well after 68, though. I think it depends if the frame was stamped before or after lunch and a couple of pints were consumed.
I guess I could rewrite the whole date code chart, but then I'd get a crap load of emails asking me about that. I'll live with the shame of using an incorrect chart for one year of speakers I guess.
Sorry to have assaulted your intelligence in the past Baron...although I can't remember doing it if I did, but I apologize for that if it occurred.
