Can anyone tell me if a 1972 G12M (T1221) 25W 16 Ohm 55hz and a 1969 G12H30 (T1281) 30W 16 ohm 55hz speakers can be put together in a 2x12 cabinet safely or should they not be put together since their different wattages.
Any pros or cons to doing this??
Should they be in Parallel 2x12 wiring or Series 2x12 wiring like the examples on Scumback’s website?

Re: Different wattage speakers in a 2x12 help
Not a problem.
Just remember that the overall cab rating for load will be that of your lowest rated speaker (the 25w) so you should think of this as a 50w cab, but bear in mind they are old and does not mean you can hammer them with a robust Marshall 50w head with downtuned metal and expect them to last more than 5mins
If you go parallel you will get an 8ohm impedance load. If you go series you will get 32ohm impedance load - probably not what you want!
You will need to bear in mind that the speakers have a different sensitivity (ie the output for a given signal). THe G12H is a 100dB rated speaker - ie relatively sensitive and will be the speaker you hear most of as the G12M is either 97 or 98dB speaker depending on its age so will be less sensitive and give less output for a given input. Not a problem as a few boutique amp and speaker people do this deliberately as they feel that it avoids the speakers being beamy, in phase (giving dead spots depending on where you stand) and helping richen the sounds at different volume levels.
I guess you will be able to judge for yourself, but don;t hit them with more than 30w unless you have an attenuator
