Chrome Toggle Switch Nut

Post by Blues Rocker » Sun Jul 11, 2010 4:44 am

What do you guys use to tighten the Chrome Toggle Switch Nut with the 2 slots in it? I've tried a couple of ways, neither of which is the best. Is there a dedocated wrench or tool to use on this nut?

I use a modified spanner wrench. I can't imagine Marshall not having a dedicated tool to do this. Nevertheless, I am working on my own non-slip, non-marring design that I will attempt to patent.

Can you make one up for me and I'd be willing to buy it at a reasonable price.

Maybe that will help to pay for your patent!

It's much better to tighten the switch with the washer on the inside, isn't it?

Yes Shakti...get the switches sticking out the front where you want them, get the notches on the chrome rings lined up, then tighten it all up with the nuts inside the chassis. You will be turning these nuts away from the switch toward the chassis. You can use small, needle nose pliers to do this, being careful not to scratch the chassis.

We use flat wrenches on the inside for this. They have to be thin to fit between the chassis and the switch. I found a whole set of metric ones on a car restoration tools website. I'll try to find them again and post a link.
