I completed my JTM45 build a few days ago and am having an issue with the Normal-channel inputs. The V1 plate voltage at pin 1 is extremely high and the Normal inputs don't work. The plate voltage at pin 6 is in the range of George's instructions. I've tried substituting the 12AX7 without any change. Different output tubes don't affect the voltage appreciably. I changed out the 100K plate resistor tied to pin 1, again with no change. I'm at a loss as to what's going on. My DC voltage measurements are below. Ideas?
Plate - 1 Plate - 6 Cathode - 3 Cathode - 8 Grid - 2 Grid - 7
V1 332 197 1.17 1.17
V2 197 335 1.21 198 197
V3 253 245 44 44 27 29
Plate - 3 Grid - 4 Bias
V4 447 450 31.2mA
V5 448 450 37.9mA
B+ - 2 & 8
V6 452

Re: New build - V1 plate voltage very high and Normal inputs not working
In case it would be any help to anyone, the problem turned out to be a bad tube socket at V1. I found it by chop-sticking with my meter hooked up to the resistor connected to the V1a plate.
