intermittent Hiss/Hum Help???
Does anyone know what would cause my new build to have a hum/hiss that seems to build up then fades away? All the tone is still there, there is just this build up off a hum. If I turn the stand by switch off it goes away for awhile. Again, the hum is very iintermittent and fades in and out.

I'm no expert, but have tried swapping tubes. That always seems to be the first thing to try. If it's not a tube, I'd say a bad solder joint. But there are much more knowledgeable people than me here.

Re: intermittent Hiss/Hum Help???
Thanks Bill,
I have checks the solder joints and a couple were suspect, re-flowed them and am now testing. We'll know soon.
Thanks,
Kris

Re: intermittent Hiss/Hum Help???
Tested for about 4 hours yesterday and the hum / hiss seems to be gone. Could have been a solder joint or a wire that extended a little too far past the solder joint (did some trimming). Thanks for your help.
