Tight Marshall Knob...Bugger

ARGHHH!

Started putting the marshall knobs on and of course while trying to adjust it, the bloody stem of the pot came out with it .

I read the forum, found the solution of using a 1/4" drill bit

Anyway i live in Australia, and I think if i got one shipped from the states now, i'd be waiting well past xmas for it (and would probably have to pay $10 in shipping). The closest electrical store near me Jaycar. They claim to sell alpha pots, they're the pcb mount kind.. a bit suss.. what do ya reckon, a worthy replacement? or should i just wait and get one shipped from elsewhere.

Checking this link.
This one have a d-shaped shaft, you need a round/plain shaft pot.
Also the shaft is too long. so the knob will not fit on the shaft for sure.

Also the LOG pot is 1/10th of a watt(.1watt). The linear one is availlable at 0.2watt but will have quite a hudge volume jump.
It is not a solder lug pot but will work if you can't wait(will be a pita to solder wires on).

Did some investigation, found a place in australia where i can get alpha pots.

oh yeah and i managed to yank the marshall knob free, took 2 hours but all is good

Yeah, gotta drill out the knobs! It's a pain in the ass, but I managed to do it and I didn't even have a vice. I had to hold the knobs in my hand with a pair of pliers (with paper towel so I didn't scratch the knobs) while I slowly reamed out the holes with a 1/4" bit.

Start with a 15/64" drill bit and finish with the 1/4". A lot easier on the hands. Scott
