While rewiring my BBri for a PTP board I discovered 2 different ways to hook up the voltage supply to the board. In this layout by SDM he has the supply coming from pin 6 of the rectifier to the 150K resistor.

On this layout the wire comes straight off the PT.

My experience is that when the supply is from the rectifier, I get higher plate voltage at the power tubes. Has anyone else experimented with this? How were the originals wired?

Re: Voltage supply
The connection is just the same.
One take it from the rectifier socket, the other take it from the pt but it is the same connection Just like in the originals.

Re: Voltage supply
I tried both on my BBri build and the rectifier supplied about 20v more than coming straight off the PT. Looking to see if my amp is an anomaly or is this the norm. I agree with you in that the connection seems to be the same, being that I got 2 different values each way prompted my question.mathd wrote:The connection is just the same.

I have another JTM45 build wired off the PT, I'll try moving it to the rectifier and report.

Re: Voltage supply
Let us know the result - if you get more plate voltage off the rectifier I'd like to try that method to increase voltage in my build.

Re: Voltage supply
No significant difference on my JTM45.

Crappy - thanks for the info though
