Vol pot off, still got sound, wtf

Just completed this JTM45 build a week ago and it smokes. Marstran trannys (784-139 OT). Mullard, F&T and BC caps w/Pihers. I noticed that with both vol pots all the way down I still get a faint signal coming through. Put it on the bench, checked all the solder connections and wire routes but don't see anything wrong.
Anybody run into this B4?
