V2b question

Post by chopperferrari » Tue Sep 13, 2016 6:56 am

Hi chaps,

I'm trying to get my head around how v2a &b function in the JTM45 - it seems to be different to the he way a lot of other amps have their 2nd gain stages set up. Can anyone help me get to grips with it?

Why the shared 100k on the plate as oposed to one for each side like V1?

V2b cathode has just a 100k resitor - why this value? Seems like an awful lot more resistance than in a usual cathode arrangement? (2.7k, 1.5k, 820ohms)
