I'm not really looking for the exact Van Halen tone like Mark but I've seen how much fun he's having recording these clips, so here's a clip of my Plexi doing some Van Halen 1!
I didn't want to nail the tone exactly though as that would've required post EQ and masking the real tone of the pickup/amp, so I left that intact. My guitar is in the left speaker until the solo when it switches to the right.

The guitar is plugged into the modified normal channel (.68uF bypass on V1a and 360pf mixer cap).
Again, the master volume is at bedroom volume level. This is what I feel a PPIMV should sound like for amps with a fair bit of overdrive on hand. I can't help but wonder if power tube distortion would add that slight extra bit of midrange bite that's in the original, or if that'd be down to the mixing desk.
The playing is really sloppy during the chorus, but to be fair I only learnt the song tonight so I couldn't care less about playing it perfect, I'll leave that to the VH tribute bands!

Actually the opposite - 16ohm! It does sound a bit like the clips you posted with 4ohm. Maybe that's because the presence is wired in a strange way (replaced with a .68uf to ground but no resistor).
