Re: Debate on Eddie's Plexi
Is it not true that Ed's amp had 16uF's on the pre-amp?

Re: Debate on Eddie's Plexi
Looks like the 12301 had the OT roated 90 degrees. You can see it in the guitar aficionado.

Re: Debate on Eddie's Plexi
Could be evidence of a later model replacement that needed to be retro fitted.

Re: Debate on Eddie's Plexi
Maybe EVH should have the original head cap re-tolexed as well.

In looking at the Amp Archives, there appears to be quite a few in the 12xxx series that have the 90 degree orientation of the OT.Strat78 wrote:Looks like the 12301 had the OT roated 90 degrees. You can see it in the guitar aficionado.

Re: Debate on Eddie's Plexi
The 69 1959's have it and the 50w etc., but where is an original 12xxx with internal filter caps that has an OT rotated like that? But it's beside the point, you don't give the statue of David a nose job with a chisel because you don't like Michelangelo's rendering! I though the amp was restored, not fucked up even more.

Re: Debate on Eddie's Plexi
Definately some anomilies with that amp; pre amp filter on top and a choke with the box brackets (12301 is the only other one I've seen'and my clone he he), but not that OT.

Re: Debate on Eddie's Plexi
Ok, I had to get home to look at the magazine. The OT is 90 degrees from this picture. The bells are facing front and back now, rather than the way in this picture.

Re: Debate on Eddie's Plexi
I noticed this before. The OT appears to have been rotated when van weelden rewired the amp in the mid 90's... here's a picture that was uploaded with those other gut pictures that are floating around.
It probably just wasn't put back to the stock orientation when it was restored.
