I think his best tone was the first 7 notes of Layla
It's too bad that line up didn't play together longer.

And that was played through cranked Champs.

You mean just because the guy who wrote the riff fell off his bike and died, the drummer went mad and killed his mother, the bass player is dead, your keyboard player plays country music, there no reason not to have a reunion tour ? :D

Love the riff, and the sound of the layered guitars. I saw somewhere there´s 7 tracks of guitar on it.

It was.

Duane, who, according to Clapton, "wrote the bloody riff" died in ´71 in a motorcycle crash, Jim Gordon, the drummer, reportedly killed his mother, and now is in an asylum, Carl Radle died in ´79, after Eric kicked him out of his touring band, an Bobby Whitlock is in Nashville producing country records..

Bad karma all around !

Yep, I was just making a wise crack, because
I like Duane's tone more.

Man, I hate playing a set without that pre-gig trip to the bathroom.

In my best voice of the Dad on Friday.
"You're not dumping any stinky loads over here."

I'm locking the bathroom door if you ever
come over to jam at my house. :P J/K

hmm... Are you sure his trip to the bathroom isnt a laboratory trip instead? Im not much for that myself though I have indulged when the odd fan comes by and slaps some in your hand. Probably the worst thing to do.

Ah yes, the pregig Herbal and Pharmacological research ritual.
Been there, done that. Never had to pay for it when I was gigging.
(If I wanted to do it)
That wasn't the only thing that was offered freely, but I'll keep this G rated.
