Re: Clips of My new VH tone Mod
Love it. I use 50 watt setups too. Even my 100 watt amps only use two tubes.

Re: Clips of My new VH tone Mod
I would say "OUTSTANDING". I know you don't like to divulge the particulars with your mods but many here will probably enjoy this and want to know more. Well done.

I will not get into details of the mod, but its mostly a 70s jmp 100w stock circuit with an extra gain stage, & the usual Marshall MV.

Re: Clips of My new VH tone Mod
To me, the JTM clone sounds better than the 75 but the 93 sounds best. Just my .02 cents.

Re: Clips of My new VH tone Mod
interesting. I always have it in my head that the tonestack needs to be 33k/470pf for VH type tones but lately I feel like 56k/250pf is more pleasing.
My favorite amp that I own is a January '81 1987 JMP (maybe one of the last before the 800 line?) that I converted to '68 (ss rect) JTM-50 specs. I LOVE that amp. I think I just recently discovered that prefer the tone of 56k/250pf/.1uf PI couplers
I'm sure there's a thread somewhere about it but I've been away from this forum for awhile.

Re: Clips of My new VH tone Mod
Yep. Basically Bass specs (or some of them) is all that amounts to and many people love that. Ralle set up his amp to 1992, or Bass specs a long time ago and it was amazing. He did DOA and it was like right on the $.
