Yes its right But.. Mount the 100k resistor to ground on the tube socket. The sound will bleed from the 100k to the treble cap.(over the master) and sound like crap. Use shielded wire too

By the way just for the record I have only seen this in 1 or 2 of the Jose's I have worked on and I have seen a couple of dozen. I also use to own 2 of them. Dave

Hey!!!! (slaps forehead)
A good friend of mine had an early '70's MKII that was HEAVILY modded by Jose. He sold it to a very good friend of his...I'll bet I can get pics of that chassis!!!
If anyone's interested - stay tuned - I'm going to see what I can do.
Fuck it.

Not trying to butt in here help only this is what Steve sent me(SDM) instructions on the jose mod without diodes, hope this helps

Basically just disconnect the wires from the master (regular 2203 master, not PPIMV) pot except the ground. The wire that came to the master from the treble pot middle lug, just remove entirely. Take the now free wire that is still hooked up to the .022uf PI input feed cap and hook that up to the now free treble pot middle lug.
Now lift the 33K/470p (or 56K/250pf) tone stack slope resistor/treble cap from the turret they share with the 100K coming from V2b pin 8. The 100K stays hooked up as normal, but now the ends on the 33K/470pf are free of that turret. Now at that same turret, solder one leg of a 10K resistor in with the 100K and wire from pin 8 that are already there. Connect the other end of the new 10K to a .22uf 400V cap leg. Now connect the other leg of the .22uf cap to the left most lug of your master pot.
Now just need top hook up the middle lug of the master. Just run a wire from it to the 33K/470pf you freed up earlier. The wire is soldered to both of the freed up ends of those parts. That's it. Kind of a rough quick way to go about it here, but wil let you know if you like it or not.

I didnt have the .22uf So I wired two .1uf in parallel, I still want to try with diodes tho, did I like yes I did, but felt it was incomplete without diodes!
And ocne again not trying to step in here or anyones feet/toes just helping if I can.

Can i hook up the Jose master volume to my 2204 JCM800? Would it sound good?

If so, would it be worth adding it to the amp and keeping the stock master vol in the amp too? or remove the stock 2204 master and add the Jose master vol?
