Well, Vhoholic can get pretty close with lots of different gear (He had everybody fooled with a 5150!!!5150loveeddie wrote:I agree, Vholic tone is a hair to stiff, maybe he could reduce some filtering somewhere, playing is very close also but 500 is 99.98% onrockstah wrote:yes Ralle.. i hear a bunch of people playing vh - ralle comes closest in sound a especially technique vholic is good indeed but ralle is ed IMHO
Doesn´t Ralle live in Europe? It would be interesting to listen to them playing in the same amp. Or have Vhoholic play in an amp build to Ralle´s specs.
Tatosh.
Hey when i said i think VHoholic is the best ''internet player'' i meant as a actual player with his own style, Not 'i think VHoholic is the best at copying soneone'. Like listen to his original stuff or his blues jam, or doodling around clips. Definatley VH vibe but he has his own style going on. IMO ralle's good but he plays very sloppy, and his tone isnt that great. I like ralles tone ok but its a little buzzy and farty sounding for my taste. I much prefer VHoholics tone with any of his amps.rockstah wrote:yes Ralle.. i hear a bunch of people playing vh - ralle comes closest in sound a especially technique vholic is good indeed but ralle is ed IMHO

I kind of always thought of it as a super tight distortion but the power tubes were pushed so hard they kind of breakup into a looseness. The opposite of high gain amps like rectums where the drive is super loose and buzzy and the poweramp is clean and stiff.5150loveeddie wrote:Of course...................ok not loose enough!!!! too tight a little....Eddie's sound wasn't so tight, right?rockstah wrote:a hair to stiff i thought reffered to the circuit5150loveeddie wrote: I agree, Vholic tone is a hair to stiff, maybe he could reduce some filtering somewhere, playing is very close also but 500 is 99.98% on

hey jimmy page is said to be sloppy - does it discredit him at all?Flames1950 wrote:Hey, I guess if you're all cool with it......IMO ralle's good but he plays very sloppy, and his tone isnt that great. I like ralles tone ok but its a little buzzy and farty sounding for my taste.
sometimes sloppy is good - sometimes if its too perfect its missing something for me.
