Post by Ralle » Sun Dec 18, 2011 5:30 pm

Ok... since most of you guys know by now that I want that MM pu... and they seem pretty hard to get...
Can I get some reviews and comparison between the two pu's?

Thanx in advance

dont know about everyone else but listening to strat 78's LD riff on that clip with a MM1400 vintage i hear something in the tone that the MM1300 just doesnt have, nor does the super d have it? something in the mids is right with the 1400

All my recent tone test clips are with a old DSD.
Is that the stock MM1300 or a alnico 8 modded one?
I am after a MM 1400 if you are selling one?

Mr Strat sir, what are the specs on the amp? Is that yours? Or Ben"s?

I know the magnets aren't the same in Dimarzios and MM's... both the 1400 and 1300 are way bigger than the Dimarzios...
The D 2 messaurers about 8.7k...as the 1400 8.6... so if there's a magnet swap, it would be the same, right

Magnets can vary strengths depending on their charge for instance dimarzio may have used a smaller mag but it had a strength(gauss) the same as the MM larger magnet.

Why is the baseplate upside down? Or am I nuts? :stars:

I've noticed that some of these pickups have the "mighty mite" stamped on that side of the baseplate even when the pickup is assembled with the legs facing the right way. Maybe the seller put the plate this way just to show that it did have the mighty mite stamp? The guy is measuring the pickup wrong. The red wire should be tied off and the black wire soldered to the mesh, then measure the white against the mesh =12k or there a bouts? Oh, it looks like it was painted black, so it could possibly be a 8k mighty mite, originally a cream bobbin (never saw a black one measure that, makes sense now).
