How EVH gets his sound?

They are moving their facility so any amps sent will be forwarded. He gave me the new address to send the amp to. He also said that EVH is still doing the same thing as he did all those years ago. He also went on to say he was just in California meeting with EVH and company because they wanted to consult him on some things that he said may or may not go into production. He was not specific. All in all the conversation was very pleasant and his answers were very forthcoming. He asks a lot of questions and I had a pen and paper handy with his recommendations. I will be sending my 2204 in soon. He has worked with so many very well known guitar players that it really boggles the mind.

There's a lot of people who do this mod. Happiness is the bottom line. If you like the tone. That's all that matters.

The description at Voodoo begins: "The famous High-Gain Jose Arrendondo Modification!" But apparently it also has a "GlobalTMControl". Will I be able to dominate the world with this mod?!?!

every one knows he used a secret overdrive pedal, you just can't get that kind of gain out of an amp...

Kinda interesting, we all know the EVH amps are not the Brown Sound and I would be very interested to hear his explanation of "elaborate method of power amps and ISO transformers"!
Maybe Dave can chime in and clarify.

The names have been changed to protect the innocent: slaving and variacs. The only thing elaborate is the sales pitch.

I think there is a huge sales pitch happening!
So if its not the amp and its the "power amps and ISO transformers", why pay Trace to do a Jose Mod???
I highly doubt that George, Ralle, Mark and everyone else has been chasing our tails and only Trace has the Brown Sound Mod..
I would need to see and hear the mod and talk to Trace to believe that !
Just go back and listen to Ralle and Marks clips..... thats brown!

Who know's if Trace even said that, but there are plenty of Videos on Youtube that speak louder than words. If you think that is "THE" tone, then have him mod your amp.

The description sounds like slaving. Maybe they're trying to make an amp with built-in slaving.
