Headphone Recommendation

What are some good studio headphones that won't break the bank and do a good job for guitar recording?
I did some googleing and these came up.
AKG K240s
Audio Technica m45 or m50

I highly recommend the Equation RP-21 headphones. I'm a session player, and have been through 'em all in the studios here. I bought a set of these after using them on a tracking date about six months ago. They're great. I rely on them really... When I'm sitting in the studio dialing in a sound with these on my head, I know that when I walk into the control room, it's gonna sound like I expect it to.
Besides sounding great, and being comfortable and non-fatiguing, they have a detachable cable. What's so great about that?... What ends up going bad on headphones?

I've been cranking through my AKG K240s for about 15 years. They still sound great. I use 'em every day

Still have my AKG's too !
Handles just about any freque.
Now I use JVC HA-D810's just because of their wide range freque response:5-26,000Hz
Great lows with chimey highs.
frequency response + Driver size += AC/DC on 11 ! Turn it up !

I have Sony 7506's too. Those are workhorse phones.
I also splurged on Ultrasone 750's. Those are incredible. You could mix on them. Which says a lot.

The Sonys are good DJ headphones as they're really punchy and clear. The downside is that it's very easy to get ear fatigue after a short while if you're not careful and they're hard to mix with if you're using these in lieu of monitors. That can be said with most headphones but I always find myself having to go back and adjust levels and EQs because they're so enhanced-sounding. Still, they hold up well and DO sound good. I remember when I worked at Platinum Island we had boatloads Fostex and AKG cans
