If you have ever seen Rocky 1 you will notice that on the training montage you hear an electric guitar whailing away with a wah wah pedal. I always wanted this exact same sound for myself but have failed thus far to figure out what the guy was using. I have this same question also for the song by Chicago "25 or 6 to 4" which has an awesome solo to it, very vintage sounding...I love that guitar, amp, wah combination but again, I cant figure out which types they were, specially the wah. I was trying to remember another tone you could nail, Slashsound, here is one you might like. I remembered it and looked it up. Really not my cup of tea at all but seems like it might be your thing.

Thanks for the thought man, but as cool as that solo is , its not the kind of tone I like either... when I think of tone I think of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKFRaienxfk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You'll start creaming your pants at around 1:41 for sure.
