It'd be cool if they sell just that right angle that you can add to an existing sm57 ... just unsolder and re-solder the 2 wires to the capsule...

Doesn't look like it figures out the proper placement on the speaker for me yet, so I'm guessing I'll stick with ribbons and condensers.........

That seems pretty nifty, but as flames said I feel that condenser and ribbon mics are still the way to go. Is there any fairly cheap condenser mics that reproduces the sound fairly decent that doesn't sound harsh?

I've been using Oktava MK319 condensers -- been extremely happy with them. I literally throw them up with the body of the mic parallel to the grille cloth, about eight inches away, with the mic element slightly off center on the speaker, and I'm happy first time every time.

You can use a ribbon and condenser in a live setting and I think a 57 is best for that...

And they now sell the angle on it's own now...
