Problems with mixer

Post by Ydna » Tue Nov 23, 2010 12:22 pm

So a few weeks back, I borrowed a sm57 from a friend, and my Dad pulled out a mixer we had lying around. I got all the cables, and started trying to record. While recording, sometimes the the volume of the recording will slowly go down to nothing, and sound very odd. At first, I thought it was mic placement, but last night, I was messing around plugged into the mixer and it happened again. So either it is the mixer, which is a "Realistic Stereo Mixing Console" which looks like this

Or it is the standard sound card in my laptop. I'm not trying to have some hifi recording studio, just was trying to record.

Here is a clip of what it sounds like http://www.soundclick.com/andyus" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
