NICE! So are those going to be in JCM style head boxes, or late 70's style JMP's?
Sorry if this is redundant, the front panel looks too short for a JCM cab.

Will this be available as a "bare bones" kit with just the chassis, panels and board?

This kit, along with the Lakers taking the NBA Championship, will make this June the best June in the history of time! Am I right? Haha!

(I'm also guessing this thread is the "official" 2203 Kit update thread)

Hi George, theoretically is it possible for one to make a switch for this amp that takes it between the jmp and jcm versions? Since from what I understand the only difference between these amps is a some kind of capacitor i think it was...on V1?

Is it possible to get a faceplate that doesnt say metro on it, for historical accuracy sake?

Thanks all!

JCT: if you like how these turn out we can talk about how best to get these to your students.

Slashsound: you could put in a switch, but the change would be pretty subtle. If you go to the trouble to drill a hole and put a switch on there, IMO it's better served switching something with more tonal variation.
To answer your question, yes you can.

SS: Once the 2203 kits are rolling I intend to use our new aluminum panel resources to make restoration grade, accurate replacement panels for 70's JMP's. The caveat is that as of right now none of the samples are exact replicas of my original metal panels. We're very close, but not 100% as yet.

I'm diving into the kit assembly and instructions this week. I'll be posting updates and if all goes wel (and I'm happy with the results) I'll put these in the store for pre-sale in mid-April.
I'm still looking at mid-May for official release and shipping date.

Great work, that looks absolutely stunning! That amp looks amazing!
I'm dying for a good resource for a front and back gold panel...
Will the restorating faceplates also carry the "JMP" text?

I've made some progress on the kit and should have it listed for pre-sale later this week. It's going a little slower this time because I'm doing a few tasks, taking all the pictures then working on the steps. I got into trouble in the previous instructions by taking a bunch of pictures and assuming they would be good, only to find out later that I didn't have anything I could work with. I'm trying to avoid that this time of course.

I'm also trying to raise the bar a bit higher on these. Better pictures, more text dedicated to the options for the kit, more comparisons to the original 2203 included and so on.

More info and a sample of an instruction page will be posted soon....
