Funny stuff Flames.
Good thing you didn't post a pic of Dee from circa 1985!

I was tempted to start up Photoshop and do George up in Dee's old makeup. Wasn't sure he'd still be laughing at that point.

Hey George!!!

Cool Pictures bro!!!

Can I ask you a question? When You play out live with your magic amps, how loud are they with the Power break? That being said I noticed that the amp cab is pretty much aimed at your head and that these amps probably have to be dimed to get distortion so I was wondering how loud you play lol!!

Another question I have is that I live in a condo so Im going to have to slave the amp when Im done with it and I'll need a good load box to use because I dont trust my Marshall SE100!!
any recomendations?

Thanks bro!!

I usually play at about 105db/w @ 1 meter A weighted.

Just kidding.

Actually, the amp is usually cranked. The PB is normally set at the -9 or -12 db setting for rhythm. One or two clicks higher for leads (I have my PB modded for two footswitchable levels).

Really, just loud enough to be clear over the drummer. I wear special ear plugs (thank you tinnitus) that cut all frequecies evenly. They surprizingly help me do distinguish different sounds from one another.

One of the first signs of permanent hearing damage is not being able to isolate a particular sound in a noisy room. I've learned to read lips because of this. I can only hope that you guys will protect your hearing, it really sucks to lose part of it.

Oh yeah, and here's a better pic......

Whaddaya mean just kidding??
In my last band I took the dB meter for fun one rehearsal. My '78 50 watt from eight feet away (where I was standing): 116dB.
No wonder my ears were numb for a couple days after every gig, but I still blame the crash cymbals. also no wonder that I had to aim the amp at the walls for most gigs.

If ANY of you guys aren't wearing earplugs yet get some now. George is dead on here and it ain't funny. If I can't see your mouth moving in a bar, I've got no clue what you're saying and I just end up chugging beer at a breakneck pace for lack of anything else to do. It's almost that bad in the car, at work, or at family gatherings.
And good earplugs really do help you hear things onstage more clearly, they seem to cut out that fuzzy "white noise" effect and you can actually isolate what everyone's doing much better.
I'm kinda lucky (??). I don't know about George but I've had tinnitus as long as I can remember (back into my teens) so I almost don't even notice it, because I can't remember life without it. I don't have to crank up the TV so I can sleep or any of that crap.
Is this enough preaching on the subject?? It's why I won't own an amp over 50 watts anymore.

Thanks for the reply George!!

I will have to slave the amp when using it at home because I feel that even an attenuated amp might be to loud for home use. I have a Marshall se100 speaker emulator but Im thinking about upgrading to something else since the SE100 scares me a bit lol.

I usually wear earplugs at all of our rehearsals but rarely live. That being said, I dont usually play at a loud volume when I play live. Just enough to hear over the drums and I aim my amp at my feet ;)
I havent had any hearing problems like tinitus but Im pretty sure that I do have some hearing loss from years of playing.
