New category in store - Restoration Parts

Post by VelvetGeorge » Thu Nov 12, 2009 6:42 pm

I have added a new section in the Metroamp store - Restoration Parts. These will be the authentic parts we have and are manufacturing that I consider to be "restoration" grade.

http://metroamp.com/store/index.php?mai ... x&cPath=83" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So far, I have:

Metal caster Cups

Rubber ribbed material for cabinet sound posts

Gold mesh material in three sizes

Many more to follow.

How did you get those metal casters repro'd for so cheap? Nice Job!

Thanks! I had them quoted at many quantities and had to buy a bunch to get the right price point. I hope there's a demand, cause I have lots of them.

George, If you can come up with an exact copy of the metal handles. The ones out there now are only close to the original. That would be the bone. Todd

I sent them in and had them digitally documented into a 3D model. Now they are getting me quotes to make them. The only way to do it right is fabricating a die for the arced back piece. That can get pricey. I might have to commit to a couple thousand to get the right price point. We'll see. Soon as I know something I'll share it here.

I know I checked into having the exact die made for the old metal handles, welding, chrome bar, plus the pierce and trim tool for the six bolt holes (which I did pay for...gulp), and just so you guys know, it was going to be just short of $10k for the tooling for the metal handle, then I could order whatever I wanted for quantities...as long as I started with 5000.

George, I wish you luck!
