50W Transformer specs

Post by LPDlx » Sun Feb 18, 2007 8:15 pm

Hi, I'm looking at putting together a project loosely based on a JTM50. I'm going for flexibility in designing it, rather than authenticity. I'd like to be able to go from JTM45 spec to JMP by changing a few components. I realize that the main differences between these amps boil down to voltages, primary impedance, and tube type. I'm looking at trannies, and I'm not finding a lot of specs, so a couple of questions:
1. The 1202-118 transformer from Heyboer doesn't come with 5V taps, yet the 118s are listed (on Marstran's historical database)as being used on JTM50s with tube rectifiers. What is the HV secondary voltage on these, and how does it compare to the JTM45 Heyboer?
2. What is the primary impedance of the 784-139 Heyboer output tranny, and how does it compare to the 784-128 spec?
Also, does the Metroamp 50W steel chassis accomodate a rectifier tube? I know that the back panels are different between the 45 and the 50. Are there differences as far as tranny/cap cutouts, or does the 50 just mount an extra cap can in the rectifier tube spot?

Thanks!
