Unknown OT - color codes?

Post by Olaf » Fri Dec 21, 2007 6:19 am

I need some help guys, a friend gave me a (black) OT, labelled "60 OT, 9960312".
I can measure the primaries with my DMM, but what about the secondaries? My guess is that this is a Heyboer . . . .

prim are: brown, blue, red
sec are: yellow, orange, green, black

Any idea how I can see what's common, 4, 8, and 16?

Thanks a lot

Run a 1K 1V signal into the primary and measure the secondary. You should be able to figure out which wire is which.

Peavey uses those colors. For Peavey red is the center tap of the primary. On the secondary black is common, green 4 ohm, white 8 ohm, and orange is 16 ohm. I'd try that when measuring it. Does it have a flat plat of steel on the bottom for mounting with 4 threaded holes for screws? That would indicate another sign of a Peavey to me.
