Shinrock transformer for 50 Watter

Post by OdgeUK » Sun Apr 22, 2007 2:55 am

Hi all,

I'm not far off ordering one of Martstran's Drake 1202-118 Laydown repro's for my 1973 50W JMP. Because my budget is tight though I'm still trying to find a source nearer the UK to reduce shipping. What do you guys think of this?

The voltages would work but 150mA rating on th HT seams a bit low to me.

This is a repost - my last one disappeared

I have heard good things about Shinrock smaller (18watters).

I have used one of Georges Heyboer laydowns in my latest build and it does come up with the goods.

When I worked it out with exchange rates and shipping all worked out (and knowing that I had something that would drop straight in) Metro came out best.

I use a set of shinrocks in my Classic-Amp and I am pretty glad about them. They sound great! I had a delivery time of about 4 weeks for this set, but the PT is a costum type.

Look at Ingos homepage, he as to go to hospital next weeks for a few days. I just phoned with him yesterday and he will continue the production after 2-3 weeks of recovery.

Shinrock transformers

Post by Martin » Wed Mar 19, 2008 2:44 pm

What ever you do don,t order anything from this company,I ordered a JTM 45 o/p trannie and choke May 2007 and have got nothing.I have e-mailed Ingo(owner) several times and got no reply. A while ago before last Christmas on their website Ingo posted that his daughter has a brain tumor and would deal whith the outstanding orders when he could.Understandable in cicumstances and would not be taking any new orders.the next thing was he was stopping trading but would not be stopping winding transformers ? After some digging about on the web I discovered that there are many people still waiting for there goods to be delivered, also this is not the first time old Ingo has pulled this stunt, I found some old post's from 2004/5 with the same complaints.I don't know what the real deal is with Ingo but I know untill very recently if you e-mailed arequest or order he was still accepting payment, this is the only time he repl,s t e-mail's as far as I know.Anyway if any of you guy's out there are looking for trusted and good suppliers of amp part's try looking at the following sites:- Tube amp Doctor ( germany ). Tube Town (Germany ). And best for you U.S.A. lad's and lasses Ceriatone ( Malaya)very good, cheap prices.

I hope this was helpfull,

Regard's

I've got a Shinrock 20w OT that he custom wound for a 6V6 amp I've got - it's a really nice OT but I do remember having to chase him down for a couple of months, shame. It was the same when I ordered a custom choke for a Sound City L120 - great product, poor service. This is all going back 4+ years, so it seems Ingo has a history of this kind of thing.

I ordered a custom JCM800 OT about 8 month ago, never reply to my mails, never received it.
Very poor service,I want to make a complaint to postal police, but I know also(I emailed to Dirk of tube-town.de that has said this to me) that Ingo is a police officer!!!
