I'm trying to figure out if a fender reverb driver transformer is dead or operatinal!!

In the Weber book it says to do a continuity check, put someone told me that a meter threshold for continuity (bip sound..to occur) can be 150ohms, or more or lower even....

So my question is how do you test those little reverb transformers??

They have two primaries wires (input) and two secondaries wires (output)..

Can you unhook the wires, apply voltage to one side and see what you get at the other side? Only problem is I don't know where to find the turns ratio of the Fender reverb driver tranny.

But simply measure the primary (red-blue) and secondary (green-black) with a ohmmeter for interrupt.

With a 9v battery would do the trick?

For interrept???, do you mean nothing at all on the meter, how about 0.1ohm....that is not open right??

Turns ratio? 1volt I would get 40 on the other side??? :oops: I'm so new at reverb...lol

If you can find one, who gives AC out 8) Keep in mind, that every tranny only may translate AC - and never DC!

That's not Reverb stuff, that's tranny stuff!

So when you're afraid of high voltages, then connect 6.3V heater AC to the primary (red-blue) and look for .15V...0.2V on the 'other' side :wink:
