PT Metroamp 50 watt wiring v Marshall style wiring 50 watt

Post by pete » Fri Jan 25, 2008 3:52 pm

hi all , building the 50 watt kit in London , I have a marshall style PT. on my secondary HT I have red /black /red and heaters orange /brown/ black. does it mater which pin 2 or 7 the orange and brown wires go to. Could be a silly question sorry , but on the kit P/T they are green.
cheers , pete

Assuming the black wire in the orange/black/brown heater set is the CT, no it doesn't matter which wire(brown or orange) goes to pin 2 or 7.

The brown would be typically be the heater CT with that color scheme though, so check to be sure as you may need to hook up orange and black to the heater pins.

Thanks Steve, when I picked up the PT the guy at the shop did say the two black wires one from the HT and the one from the (heaters)orange/brown/black go to ground. But didn't mention the brown. I'll double check.
