Metro vs Mercury 1987 OT

Which output transformer would have more low end thump and smack, a Mercury Magnetics or a Metro Heyboer Drake clone? Is there even a difference in that spectrum of sounds between these transformers or would the sonic differences lay in other frequencies? Thanks and sorry if the question is confusing. I'm considering at some point buying a built clone amp or building one, either way, if I can get a 50 watter with the solid punch in the lows like my JTM45 doesn't have and my 1987XL RI sort of has I'll skip the 100 watter and go with a nice 50 watt amp.
